Experience Your Healing
A restored, healed and growing Christian is a powerful tool in God’s hands. There is no limit as to how much such a Christian can accomplish with God in their life time. Unfortunately many people in the world today, particularly Christians, are trapped, wounded and feeling helpless.
Life for many people is filled with suffering, pain and hurts and there are times we wonder what went wrong, why do we have to endure so much pain?. Sometimes one gets to the point where the pain becomes ‘normal’ and we resign to fate.
Hope and comfort are given up and people tell themselves that it is the will of God for them to go through the pain. Some other times we get angry at God for not intervening in our situations and ask him why. Sadly, many have lost their faith in God due to a perceived lack of answers. They became angry and disappointed with God, give up on Him in the process and get busy looking for answers elsewhere. Unfortunately, apart from God, there is no other reliable source of answers for our life situations. This search has left many even more confused and hurting and has made their lives difficult and at worst hopeless.
Some pain is inherited and other pain is acquired through the hurtful experiences life brings our way from childhood into adulthood. There is some pain which is as a result of our decisions, actions, attitudes, beliefs and words. Some other pain is Godly while other types of pains are purely demonic attacks.
Satan sets many children up for painful experiences between the formative years of ages 3 - 10. Our first painful or traumatic experience comes at a time when we do not know how to respond to pain and so we push it somewhere inside. The devil knows that it is right there and not dealt with and he waits for the ideal time to bring it out and then it becomes tragic. It is like poison waiting to be released. Once we get into our teenage we begin to vent out the pain within. This held in pain can come out in different ways depending on personalities.
Some vent out in rebellion and defiance. They become the rebellious teen. They form the bad boys or bad girls group. The reason behind this behavior is the anger, shame, bitterness and pain that came into their young souls when they went through the painful experience.Others become cold, fearful and withdrawn. They follow from a distance and can be mislead by their peers. This is because of the fear, trauma, and probably the abandonment or abuse that they experienced during their childhood.
Others create an escape. They get busy to avoid thinking about their pain. Most of them become bookworms and high achievers. They get the best grades. You can never know they have a problem because they have learned how to distance themselves. It is only when their lives begin to slow down that the effects of their childhood pain begins to manifest.
It is important to empty those contents before the devil begins to use them against you or even to destroy you. Those he did not destroy during their teenage years, he waits for an opportune time when they are young adult years, or even when they reach adulthood. We have handled cases of childhood pain in people over 70 years old.
The wounds inflicted by suppressed pain are on the inside of a person, they are in the realm of the soul and spirit. They are not physical and so cannot be seen. Their presence is revealed by their symptoms.

Ongoing hurts need ongoing healing. Hurts like sexual abuse, unfaithful partners, alcoholics who have not stopped drinking, ridicule that is still going on, all these require on-going healing. A onetime healing session will not be enough. When these pains are left unattended to, they begin to cause destruction inside - destruction that shows up in different ways in different people.
The Healing Process
In order to be healed one needs to identify the hurt experienced and wound created. Sometimes it requires re-entering the memory, re-experiencing the pain one last time as you hand it over to God.
The process involves waiting upon the Lord to reveal the hurt He wants to heal. It is important to wait for Him to bring the memory because then you know that whatever He reveals He will heal. Inability to hear God’s voice and uncertainty of whether this is God’s voice or not can cause someone to feel tense, but the good thing is that God knows us and He speaks to us in a way that we understand, you cannot go wrong with God. He will always reveal what He wants to heal.
Healing takes place when we invite Jesus into the situation of hurt. Sometimes you may see Him in open vision like a video while other times you may just feel His presence. Create an atmosphere where Jesus can easily minister to you through a silent prayer or a worship song or just through silence. Speak to Him and allow Him to speak to you. He may speak to you in your thoughts, feelings, the word, still small voice, vision or any other way that he knows you will understand.
After you encounter him he will show you how he sees your particular situation. He will give you the truth so you can begin to change the lies you had believed. He will show you his love and that he was there even when you didn’t realize it. He might decide to show you his own pain about what you went through. He will help you forgive others or yourself. He may lovingly correct you in the process and show you where you acted wrongly. He will bring you restoration.
It is important to allow Jesus to continue healing our wounds until there are no more hurts left to heal.Use the following ministry steps to receive healing for specific wounds you have experienced in your life.
Silently ask the Holy Spirit or Jesus to reveal the wound he wants to heal. He knows exactly where it hurts. What he reveals, he heals. (listen and watch as he reveals it to you)
After seeing it and knowing it, pour out your heart to express your hurt and frustration, your pain, fear or anger. Be honest with God, be real!
If you find any hindrances .e.g. unforgiveness, repentance needed, demonic blockage, deal with it. Do not allow yourself to be hindered. Jesus is right there to help you and he will intervene, he wants to heal you.
Listen as the Holy Spirit or Jesus himself interacts with you in that wound. As he breathes new life into you.
Receive your healing touch by speaking it out .e.g. ‘I receive your healing touch Lord’. Allow the Holy Spirit or Jesus ample time to minister to you. You might just fall asleep as the peace of God comes in.
If you find any lies that you had believed, break your agreement with that wrong belief and ask the Holy Spirit or Jesus to speak to you the new found truth of the situation. Isaiah 53:3-5.
